Flash Nifties Media Gallery
There is only one thing better than a free software, Free software powered by a first-class support. Flash Nifties Media Gallery qualifies for both. It is one of the “pearls” available on the net, if you ever thought (or needed) to add media player to your site, then you want to read this post.
A couple of months ago I was asked to utilize a web based media gallery that will automatically display all the images from a specific source folder. The user who was responsible for updating the content was not (to say the least) very computer oriented, so the task of adding / removing images was strictly limited to copy-paste-delete.
Flash Nifties Media Gallery is lightweight, powerful, fully customizable (over 120 settings!) flash based Media gallery written in PHP.
The Gallery can be configured for both automatic or manual content selections.
- When set to “automatic mode” the gallery will automatically scan a specified folder, picking up all the relevant files and build the navigation for you (as I used it).
- When set to “manual mode” you point it to an xml document that you organize to your content.
Flash Nifties Media Gallery is extremely easy to set up, all you need is PHP supported web-server and a text editor (notepad will do just fine).
Flash Nifties is available free of charge (with a credit link to flashnifties.com) or for a small one-time fee of $40.
I’ve used this media gallery on more than one occasion, and I can recommend it without hesitation. For those who may require assistance setting it up – you’ll be pleased to know that the support is also first-class. When I needed support, I got a response on the same day, and I was walked right through the setup process before even purchasing the ad-free version.
Flash Nifties Media Gallery is an excellent solution for anyone who would like to share media content on the Internet without the headache of complex setup and maintenance.
